Dano Forte holding my board outside Pure Glass in Costa Mesa, hopefully he doesn't mind that the perspective on this makes his head look a slightly weird shape. He is a super nice guy and a great shaper.

I had heard that he could be slightly "relaxed" to deal with but my experience has been totally positive. Right from staying in contact while we were finalising the order, to getting the board done in a little over a month, to meeting me on a sunday so i could pick the board up and not miss a weekends surfing by being without a board.

He nailed it too. It's a beautifully shaped and glassed board that has been much "oohed and aahed" over by the "peanut gallery" at home.

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

Off to the mountains today :-) Hopefully it'll dump so i can live out all my slater/ curren fantasies on snowbanks and it'll be flat or onshore for the whole week i'm away! Of course it'll probably be the best run of nice clean swell for weeks and the westerlies will return as we land next week.
Thanks to Mr Gardner for loitering in harms way to snap the picture last year and a massive thanks to Stent for leaving a shiny new Lib in France for me to play on this week.

After an enforced break from the surf i'm ready to be back on it from now!

 I spent the last week relaxing at a friends house near Cadaques in Spain, where Dali spent much of his time. Nice sunny weather, beautiful sunsets, a pool and a distinct lack of anything resembling a rideable wave. I was seriously tempted to take up kiting! Good quality family time so the brownie point bank account is fully restocked.

There's a nice fun size wave forecast for the next few days, unfortunately it's also bank holiday which is going to mean mayhem in the water, my goto spot was already rammed at seven this morning. I'm sure it gets busier every year (cue grumpy old man grumbling about how it was better back in the day etc etc.) Hopefully the tips of a few different logs will get some love over the next couple of days..........
